Description
POSITION: Technical Specialist (Subsea)
Department: Subsea
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and support all subsea activities, including ROV operations and Cable Plough operations, ensuring work is carried out safely and professionally at all times.
- Assist the Subsea Team Leader in maintaining the operational readiness of subsea equipment and handling systems through planned maintenance and regular functional tests.
- Ensure operational and maintenance records are accurately updated and completed.
- Manage subsea spare parts, consumables, hydraulic oils, lubricants, and greases, ensuring adequate stocks are available during operations and standby periods.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records for all subsea-related items.
- Communicate effectively with the Subsea Team Leader on maintenance needs, warranty issues, and personnel matters.
- Coordinate leave schedules with the Subsea Team Leader, providing sufficient notice to maintain optimal manning levels during operations and standby periods.
- Support and participate in on-the-job training for junior members of the Subsea Section.
- Comply with the company’s ISO and ISM procedures and safety standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Subsea.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related field).
- Relevant certifications in ROV operations or subsea equipment handling will be an advantage.
- experience in subsea operations, including ROV and/or Cable Plough operations will be advantageous
- Proven experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management within a subsea or offshore environment.
- Strong understanding of subsea systems, hydraulics, and mechanical handling equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance schedules, spare parts management, and operational readiness processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in offshore and operational environments.
- Commitment to safety standards and adherence to ISO/ISM procedures.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts or offshore deployments.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of subsea work.
- Ability to provide on-the-job training to junior team members.
