Job Purpose:
The Kitchen Assistant/Helper supports food preparation and ensures that utensils and work areas are cleaned and ready for the next shift. This includes cooking and packaging food in batches. Additionally, the role involves maintaining kitchen equipment and the overall kitchen environment in a safe and functional condition at all times. The assistant also contributes to stocktaking and proper storage.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Chef with basic food and ingredient preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and chopping.
Wash, clean, and dry dishes, utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, and other kitchen equipment.
Clean and sanitize food preparation areas.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
A team player, responsible, and hardworking.
Ideally, 1 year of relevant experience in general kitchen operations.
Minimum secondary school education with a valid Food Safety Course Level 1 certificate.
Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
Ability to work independently and proactively support team members.
Working hours: 6days 12hours per day (for 3 weeks)
Salary: $2800
