The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish new synthetic capabilities at IDMxS
  • Design, synthesize, and characterize molecular reporters based on conjugated oligoelectrolytes and conjugated polymer materials.
  • Collaborate with other IDMxS research clusters (Transduction, Analysis, and Translation) to package the optimized assays into a complete commercial product.
  • Perform outreach and collaborate with industry and clinical partners.
  • Perform literature reviews and stay up to date on developments in the field.
  • Author regular reports and presentations to keep stakeholders updated on progress.
  • Contribute to publications and patent applications.
  • Collaborate with other IDMxS researchers to conceptualize and propose novel assays when feasible.
  • Supervise PhD and undergraduate student projects, as required.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biophysics, or related disciplines.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly multidisciplinary team-based environment.
  • Established record in the synthesis of complex molecular structures and in the characterization of new materials via photophysical and electrochemistry tools.
  • Understanding of the elementary photophysical processes in organic materials.
  • Previous expertise in the development of biological assays based on fluorescent reporters.
