[What the role is]
The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a young division under the Economic Development Board (EDB) and focuses on building a strong ecosystem in support of overseas family, friends and fans of Singapore (3F). SGN leads the Whole-Of-Government effort to grow our collective networks whose skills, affinity and influence could strengthen our linkages to business and talent communities and enhance the international mindshare of Singapore as a vibrant global city and welcoming home in Asia.
The Network and Partnership Development team is responsible for driving in-market efforts and partnerships to grow and engage SGN’s global networks. The team comprises officers who will develop and implement regional operations either from the Singapore office or SGN’s overseas offices in Australia, China, United Kingdom and the United States.

[What you will be working on]
The Regional Director (Northeast Asia) will be responsible for developing and executing market strategy for operations in China to achieve SGN’s business outcomes.
This is an individual contributor role and based in the Singapore office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Grow, understand and cultivate a network of corporate/community partners, and work with qualified partners to achieve SGN’s business outcomes.
- Acquire and engage the network of members in the assigned region through a range of online/offline projects with suitable partners.
- Manage, cultivate relations and build trust with key customers through one-to-one and one-to-many engagements. One-to-many engagements include dialogues, forums, campaigns, webinars or networking events.
- Work with colleagues from other Singapore Government Agencies to develop and execute projects that tap on the network.
- Deliver community insights to inform SGN’s strategy development and operational planning or support national agendas. This includes but not limited to gathering and analysing data from customers and articulating key policy considerations.
[What we are looking for]
- A university degree in any discipline with 6 years of working experience in marketing, engagement or community building. Relevant working experiences in operating in China for work or in the public service will be a bonus.
- Strong interest in current affairs and knowledge of latest developments in Singapore and trending global issues.
- Enthusiastic about building relationships and managing stakeholders.
- Energetic, sociable, empathetic and comfortable to engage a varied profile and sizes of audience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills, able to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
- Flexible with ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Able to travel overseas for work and open to relocation.
- Singaporean.
