We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and optimizing algorithms for the generation of synthetic RNAs. This role involves a strong emphasis on computational biology, algorithm development, and the application of machine learning techniques to simulate RNA sequences and structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and optimize algorithms for generating synthetic RNA sequences with specific properties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these algorithms into our synthetic biology platform.
  • Analyze large datasets to validate the accuracy and efficiency of generated synthetic RNAs.
  • Work closely with experimental biologists to design in silico RNA sequences that can be tested in the lab.
  • Contribute to the development of software tools that assist in the design and simulation of synthetic RNAs.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and technological advancements in the field of RNA biology and synthetic biology.
  • Document research findings and present them at internal meetings and external conferences.

Requirements:
  • A Master or Bachelor degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Synthetic Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or C++.
  • Experience with RNA sequence analysis, algorithm development, or machine learning is preferred.
  • Familiarity with RNA secondary structure prediction and synthetic biology principles is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
