The IT Asset Administrator is responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and optimizing asset utilization within the organization. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of IT infrastructure, software licensing, contract management, and communication. The candidate will also play a key role in implementing and maintaining the Device42 ITAM (IT Asset Management) solution.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and set up the Device42 ITAM solution for the organization.
- Collaborate with solution principals to manage the setup and implementation of Device42.
- Scan and register all IT assets located in Data Centers (DCs), including:Open systems
Security appliances
Unix systems
AS400 systems
Windows servers (VMs)
Network devices
Storage appliances
- Perform Unit Testing (UT) and System Integration Testing (SIT) for registered devices, and prepare all necessary SDLC documentation.
- Reconcile scanned results against existing inventory data and resolve any discrepancies to ensure 100% accuracy in Device42.
- Process documentation for IT asset onboarding and decommissioning.
- Handover the Device42 solution to the product owner after successful implementation.
Lifecycle and Compliance Management:
- Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support during software audits and vendor assessments.
Analysis and Optimization:
- Analyze asset data to identify opportunities for cost savings, optimization, and risk reduction.
- Develop and implement IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and licensing agreements.
Tools and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Recommend and implement tools and technologies to enhance asset management processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their IT asset needs and concerns.
- Engage with platform teams to manage the scanning and registration of devices segment by segment.
Industry Awareness:
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in IT asset management.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including open systems operating systems, TCP/IP-related protocols (e.g., SSH, SFTP, WMI, SNMP).
- Experience in implementing and managing IT asset management tools like Device42.
- Proficiency in asset lifecycle management and software licensing compliance.
- Analytical skills for identifying optimization opportunities and resolving data discrepancies.
- Familiarity with inventory auditing and SDLC documentation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage contracts and negotiate licensing agreements effectively.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ITAM industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in IT Asset Management within a banking or financial services environment.
- Certification in ITIL or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Device42 or other ITAM tools.
