Assistant Manager (Group Safety and Health)

What You'II Do:

1. Participate in safety reviews of SP Group’s projects & operations and on workplace safety and health matters.
2. Engage staff and contractors to facilitate their involvement in upholding high levels of workplace safety and health standards
3. Conduct regular safety inspections at worksites
4. Ensure compliance with respect to Workplace Safety & Health Act and other related Safety and Health legislation and standards at SP and its Contractors’ Worksites
5. Support Operations to coordinate and organise activities to promote safety
6. Organise Risk Assessment Workshops with Operations team, playing a key role in the review and improvement of the risk assessments
7. Review and develop Group safety standards and guidelines where required
8. Sharing of safety related case studies during communication sessions to promote safety awareness
9. Monitor safety performance, highlighting relevant issues and recommend practical solutions
10. Support Group Safety & Health in organising activities to promote safety

What You'II Need:

1. Safety, Health, and Environmental related or relevant engineering degree(s) from a recognized university
2. At least 3 years of relevant industrial/construction experience
3. Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer
4. Good understanding of Safety Management Systems such as ISO 45001, with experience in the implementation
5. Good working knowledge of local Health, Safety and Environmental laws
6. Good problem-solving and analytical skills
7. Good communications and interpersonal skills
8. Good team player and self-starter
9. IT savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
10. Knowledge and experience in the use of technology to improve safety e.g. Data/Video Analytics, Smart PPE etc would be an added advantage
