Assistant Retail Manager - Plant Nursery

Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Assistant Retail Manager to join our dynamic team at our plant nursery. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the Retail Manager in achieving sales targets and enhancing the customer experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about plants, retail management, and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Operations:

• Assist in managing the daily operations of the nursery, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and ensuring a well-maintained retail environment.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory of plants, gardening tools, and other retail products.
• Oversee point-of-sale operations, including cash handling, invoicing, and sales reporting.

Customer Experience:

• Provide expert advice to customers on plant care, selection, and maintenance to enhance their shopping experience.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Create an inviting and informative shopping environment through attractive displays and signage.

Sales & Marketing Support:

• Assist in developing and executing promotional activities, including seasonal campaigns and workshops.
• Support the Retail Manager in analyzing sales performance and recommending strategies to achieve sales goals.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to implement online and in-store promotions.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor retail staff to ensure excellent service delivery and professional growth.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance staff knowledge of plants and customer service skills.
• Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular checks to maintain cleanliness and organization in the retail and storage areas.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in retail management, preferably in a plant nursery, gardening, or similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of plants and gardening products is a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage operations effectively.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus.

Pay: $2,000.00 - $2,500.00 per month
