Job Description

The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) was established on

1st October 2015, to be the collaborative partner in 3D printing technology creation

and innovation through working with different industries, agencies and institutions to

develop capabilities in additive manufacturing, innovate and accelerate additive

manufacturing to increase Singapore"s global manufacturing competitiveness.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team at the

NAMIC@Additive Innovation Centre (NAMIC@AIC) A*STAR Hub as the Asistant Manager, Tech Biz or Manager, Tech Biz.
The AIC Hub aims to introduce A*STAR's integrated additive

manufacturing technology offerings that can benefit the industry, with the objective to

increase collaboration with key industry partners. The collaborations are targeted to

translate research into applications, promote pilot production and accelerate the

adoption of additive manufacturing (AM) in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, evaluate and implement the AIC Hub"s goals, objectives and activities related to translating technology and driving AM industrial business growth.
  • Formulate and execute effective business strategy and industry engagement to promote AM technology, industrial and entrepreneurial growth efforts to accelerate adoption of AM in Singapore.
  • Engage companies to understand industry needs and technology requirements, and to collate and document the industry intelligence for the AIC Hub.
  • Organize industry sharing events such as seminars, roundtable discussions, workshops to outreach to the industry.
  • Work with AIC Hub manager, other A*STAR Research Institutes (RI)s' Industry Development Managers (or equivalent) to drive business strategies and industry contacts / needs for R&D projects, including pilot production projects for the AIC Hub.
  • Work with AIC Hub manager to link up external enquiries with A*STAR RIs' internal expertise and capabilities.
  • Work with Marcomm on marketing strategies for AIC Hub.
  • Work with NAMIC Cluster Lead Party (CLP) to follow up on potential companies,
  • Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) and start-ups for projects, license agreement, co-funding and standards development.
  • Secure collaboration partnerships and projects to meet the AIC Hub's outcome and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the partners and take charge of all business aspects in the on-going AIC Hub's projects.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum a degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Biomedical/Materials/Chemical Engineering, Science or equivalent education from a recognized university with at least 2 years of relevant working experience in the industry in business development.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing in additive manufacturing will be desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow up with industry inquires, negotiate business terms & pricing with customers and secure industry projects.
  • Proven track record in fostering collaborations between industry, IHLs and/or
  • public sector RIs.
  • Ability to organise marketing and industry outreach activities to generate industry interest, grow project pipeline and secure industry projects.
  • Experience in managing intellectual property and technology translation.
  • Experience and knowledge in additive manufacturing trends, entire workflow for additive manufacturing industrialization and engineering product development will be prioritized.
  • A self-starter with strong networking and collaboration skills.
  • A strong communicator with good written, presentation and oral communication skills. A strategic thinker and problem-solver with an innovation mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team, in a dynamic R&D environment.
  • Strong relationship management skills with an outgoing and pleasant personality.
  • Willing to take on required tasks beyond the job description.
