Our client is a leading shipyard in Singapore, renowned for their commitment to excellence in shipbuilding and repair. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join the team. This role requires a thorough understanding of cost management, contract administration, and project coordination within the maritime industry.
Responsibilities:
- Quantity measurement of the following trades:
- Structural works
- Piping works
- Electrical and instrumentation works
- Mechanical and equipment works
- Painting works
- Reconcile MTO with the client
- Monitoring changes on-site with production teams. It could be identified in the followings:
- Design drawing changes
- Site instruction from Client
- Job Confirmation Sheet from client
- Identification of Changes (IOC) from Production Team
- Confirmation of Verbal Instruction (COVI) from Production Team
- Compiling change proposal register
- Preparation & submission of change proposal to Client for approval
- Reconcile with Client on the change proposals submitted
- Any other ad-hoc duties being assigned by Superior.
The requirements for this role are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, cost control, and financial management.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, cost management software).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
