Description
The Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) is a large scale population-based health research project by the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. We are looking for a team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and who is service-oriented and good at time management. The role primarily involves the data collection and data review activities within a health screening centre. This job is for you if you prefer operational/field work to data analysis and wet laboratory work.
We offer a 1-year full-time contract which will be renewed on good performance, subject to research grant availability.
Job Description:
1. Obtain consent from research participants before performing any research procedures which may include anthropometric measurements, ECG, venipuncture, carotid ultrasound etc.
2. Perform assigned procedure on 20-25 participants per health screening session, keeping to the turnaround time per participant for that procedure.
3. Assist participants with self-administration of surveys, e.g. dietary questionnaire, cognitive assessment.
4. Perform regular quality control and calibration procedures and maintenance of equipment.
5. QC, sort and upload data and images to the research database.
6. Update the inventory of consumables.
7. Analyse images and perform data entry accurately, noting any observation of anomalies.
8. Ensure the safety and protect the privacy of research participants by adhering to best practices. Reporting of incidents, complaints or adverse events.
9. Perform any other responsibilities as required by future research projects.
Requirements:
· Diploma in life or health sciences with an understanding of basic human anatomy or biology.
· Experience in performing ultrasound, ECG or venipuncture would be an advantage.
· Work hours are: 7.45am to 6.15pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri; and 7.45am to 3.30pm on alternate Sat.
