The Role

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced dispute resolution lawyer to assist the Chief Legal Counsel in dispute resolution and other key matters. We are seeking applications from candidates who are:

  • Experienced general dispute resolution lawyers with a specialisation in infrastructure projects related disputes and strong technical ability

  • Strategic thinkers with a solution-oriented approach

  • Have a proven track record for managing both complex and routine matters independently, and external counsel

  • Passionate about coaching/mentoring team members as well as training clients

  • Tech savvy; and

  • PQE 15 - 20 years

Job Description

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of litigation and dispute resolution cases, including but not limited to commercial disputes, international arbitration, and regulatory matters.

  • Provide strategic legal advice to the management and the regional legal teams, ensuring their needs are addressed with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.

  • Draft, review, and manage the filing of legal documents, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and precision.

  • Direct all facets of trial preparation, from discovery through to the development and execution of robust trial strategies.

  • Represent business lines effectively in negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations, striving for outcomes that align with their best interests.

  • Work collaboratively with partners and peers within the practice to foster a cohesive and innovative team environment.

  • Contribute to the mentoring and professional development of regional legal teams.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current legal practices and developments, and actively participate in knowledge sharing within the firm.

Candidate requirements

  • A qualified solicitor with 15-20 years' post-qualification in litigation and dispute resolution, preferably within a reputable law firm.

  • Admission to the Singapore Bar or equivalent in a common law jurisdiction.

  • A robust academic record in law, demonstrating a commitment to legal excellence.

  • A proven ability to navigate and resolve complex legal issues with a strategic and analytical approach.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.

  • Resilience under pressure, with a proven track record of managing tight deadlines and delivering results.

  • A collaborative mindset, with a strong emphasis on teamwork
