The Capital Markets Sales Senior Lead is a Senior Level professional who stays abreast of developments within their own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their own job and the business. The overall objective of the group is to provide Private Bank clients with institutional level access to Citi’s full Markets capabilities. Clients gain access to a wide range of products, research, institutional level pricing, expertise, and trading capabilities across global markets. This role is based within the Citi Global Wealth Investments (“CGWI”) Capital Markets Group. The Capital Markets Sales team is the sales and marketing arm of the CGWI Capital Markets group, curating and delivering our expansive products and services offerings to Investment Counselors (ICs), Private Bankers and clients. The team is tasked with growing participation across asset classes and multiple product types (OTC derivatives, structured notes, listed options, cash products) and serves as the salesforce’s first point of call for all non-discretionary investments-related inquiries and opportunities.

The individual requires a thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. The individual demonstrates excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally and externally, often at a senior level. The individual is responsible for executing functional strategy within their business and determines the approach to implementing functional strategy. Expected to be accountable for end results and contribution to the future strategy of the business. Impact reflects strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Support coverage for large region within CGWI to grow participation in capital markets solutions
  • Develop relationships with ICs and bankers and partner with regional management to define and implement a strategic vision for the channel
  • Build a strong knowledge base of cross-asset class capital markets investment solutions, as well as an understanding of how we construct and manage portfolios
  • Develop strong partnerships with the Markets Structuring and Execution Desks to be aware of prevailing market trends, applicable strategies and new trade ideas with the view to launch new products to meet client needs.
  • Provide internal education and marketing to ICs and bankers and partner with them to understand client needs and identify salient solutions
  • Participate in client meetings, events, and roadshows to help promote the most salient ideas and solutions across all asset classes
  • Coordinate regional sales efforts and at times lead region-wide marketing initiatives, including creating marketing and educational content
  • Provides education & marketing to the salesforce that goes beyond product to cover best practices for identifying opportunities, positioning, sizing, and implementation
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience with financial markets and/or family office and/or UHNW client segments
  • In depth knowledge of structured products and derivatives and the benefits that these solutions can provide to family office and UHNW clients
  • Ability to demystify complex concepts and make them digestible to the UHNW and family office Private Bank client base
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and listening)
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with comfort working with large amounts of data
  • Motivated personality and ‘team player’ attitude, with the willingness to take initiative
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines successfully, and manage multiple projects at a time

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
  • CFA, MBA degree or other advance degree a plus
