Job Description:
The Bed Management Unit (BMU) coordinates and provides efficient and clinically appropriate ward placement of all patients entering or within the National University Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for providing bed allocation services and administrative duties in BMU.
Perform bed allocation duties with SAP and other systems, complying to a set of
rules and priorities as established by the hospital, and assignment of beds to
patients shall be in accordance to patients' needs and choice where possible
To be able to identify potential bed tight situation and activate bed tight measures
Coordinate patient movement with wards and other departments based on bed
status.
Answer phone calls to handle bed enquiries and respond to or follow up on
bed/transfer requests.
To assist in the preparation of management reports and provide statistics as and
when required
Ad-Hoc writing of reports and statistics
Offer emotional support and help patients cope with their illnesses.
Any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Requirements
Diploma in any discipline
Possess minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
Conversant with essential software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel,
Access and Power Point and knowledge of SAP is an advantage
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Must be a good team player with positive work attitude and able to work
independently
willing to work 12 hours shift rotation
