Position Overview
  • Supervise and execute structural steel repairs, welding, fabrication, and modifications on Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) vessels, container vessels, and bulk carriers.
  • Ensure steelwork adheres to industry standards and vessel safety regulations.
  • Lead teams of engineers and subcontractors, managing projects efficiently and safely.
  • Provide high-quality service for MacGregor and third-party products as required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Steel Work Supervision:
  • Oversee repairs, welding, and modifications of steel structures on RoRo vessels, hatch covers, and related systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and safety standards.
  • Maintenance:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on company equipment (e.g., ramps, doors, hatches).
  • Implement equipment upgrades as necessary.
  • Inspections:
  • Conduct detailed inspections of steel structures and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors for large-scale steel repair projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Customer Support:
  • Build and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Provide technical support and feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
  • Follow site-specific safety protocols.
Requirements1. Education
  • Diploma in Marine Engineering or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical, marine, or steel fabrication fields.
  • Engineering graduates are also encouraged to apply.
2. Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising steelwork, especially with RoRo or hatch cover systems in marine environments.
  • Expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and steel structures.
  • Preferable experience in Ports, Onboard ships, Offshore environments
3. Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in welding and steel fabrication techniques, with proven supervisory experience.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage projects independently.
