Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that food preparation and presentation meet our high standards. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, leadership skills, and a commitment to culinary excellence, while also fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served.
- Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Train, mentor, and develop new kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive team environment.
- Participate in inventory management, ordering supplies, and managing kitchen budgets.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on special events and seasonal menus.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new cooking techniques and trends.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques to enhance menu offerings and kitchen operation.
- Handle service during peak hours by maintaining effective communication with front-of-house staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role.
- Culinary degree or equivalent apprenticeship is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $2,218.69 - $3,000.00 per month
Expected hours: 30 – 44 per week
