Job Profile Summary

Transaction Services (“TS”) is one of the businesses under Wholesale Banking and offers Trade Finance, Working Capital, Payments & Cash Management and Liquidity & pooling solutions to corporate and FI clients across the ING franchise. This business has been identified as key to the future growth of the ING Wholesale banking business.

ING is looking to expand its Transaction Services business in Asia. TS provides a challenging professional environment within ING Wholesale Banking, in a growing business serving clients in an international environment. The Regional Head of Product Management for Trade Finance will lead the product strategy, development, and management of the trade finance product suite across the APAC region. This role will involve driving innovation, rolling out capabilities, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends. The candidate will collaborate closely with regional and country sales teams in APAC, the global product & delivery teams, regional business units, and key stakeholders to enhance product offerings and drive profitability in the trade finance and working capital solutions space.

Job Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Development

  • Lead the regional product strategy for trade and working capital solutions aligning with global objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive landscape to define product roadmaps in conjunction with country and regional sales teams.
  • Drive innovation and development of new products, solutions, and services within trade finance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure alignment of product offerings with corporate strategy and financial goals.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation to commercialization, ensuring consistent product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage product enhancements, customization based on market feedback, customer demand, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations, technology) to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product management.

Commercialization

  • Support regional sales teams with product expertise and client presentations.
  • Work with marketing and business development teams to drive market awareness and product positioning.
  • Develop strategies to increase market share, client penetration, and product profitability.
  • Monitor revenue performance and adjust strategies to meet or exceed financial targets.

Client & Market Engagement

  • Regularly engage with key clients and industry stakeholders to understand evolving needs, capture feedback, and ensure product-market fit.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and customer events.
  • Monitor market and regulatory changes in the trade finance space, ensuring products are compliant and competitive.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor junior product management team member fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Develop training programs to enhance product knowledge and expertise across the front office.
  • Collaborate with global product management teams to share best practices and drive consistency in product offerings.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management within financial services, with at least 5 years focused on trade and working capital finance.
  • Proven track record of managing product development and driving revenue growth in trade finance products.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance products (a.o letters of credit, guarantees, SBLCs, trade loans, Receivables financing, supply chain finance, etc.) and their operational, legal, and compliance aspects.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with diverse and cross-functional teams across regions.
  • Knowledge of trade finance regulatory requirements across different markets.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
