Job Description:

NUS IPS Social Lab is seeking a Research Assistant (Fieldwork, contract) to assist the Project Manager. The successful candidate should have an interest in the fieldwork data collection process, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and a willingness to learn about new topics. Competence in quantitative data collection methods and proficiency in spoken English are essential.

This position is ideal for individuals looking to further develop their skills in fieldwork data collection and analytical methods, with a view to building a career or pursuing further studies. The Research Assistant will work directly with NUS IPS Social Lab.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities of the RA fieldwork contract include:

Assist the project manager in calling and scheduling appointments with panel respondents
Liaise with field interviewers to conduct joint interviews with children aged between 6 and 12 years old and their parents. (Transportation allowance will be provided if travel outdoor)
Provide administrative support and assist with the cleaning and patching of quantitative data.
Draft and contribute to fieldwork and data reports.
Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

A Diploma or Degree in early childhood education is advantageous.
Past research or fieldwork experience involving children aged between 6 and 12 years old is preferable.
Excellent spoken and written English
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
Able to commit to at least 6 months of service.
This is a 6 months fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
