What the role is:Under the internship programme, you will be attached to the Town Council Secretariat (TC Sect) in HDB's Community Relations Group.What you will be working on:During the internship, you will work on projects involving oversight of Town Councils (TCs)'s performance in key areas to ensure that performance standards are met. i. Cyclical Works Monitoring The Town Councils (TCs) carry out routine maintenance and cyclical replacement of building, lift and other essential components in the HDB estates. Regular inspection and replacement works are essential to safeguard public health and safety. To support the team's operations, the following dashboard developments have been planned : • Cyclical Works dashboards (Phase I) - Management reporting dashboards, based on current Financial Year's data of work items schedule. • Cyclical Works dashboards (Phase II) - Analysis dashboards, based on historical Financial Year's data of work items schedule. The Phase I dashboards has been completed in Power BI, and is currently used by the operating team to generate charts and tables for annual reports of any outstanding works by the TCs. You will be involved in the development of the Cyclical Works dashboards and models under Phase II. Phase II aims to enhance the existing models for simulations and drill-downs to allow for uncovering of trends and identifying any TCs, work items that may need further monitoring and follow-up. It includes identifying performance variations in the upkeep of an estate across the Financial Years and changes to the TCs' models arising from modifications required during a General Election Year. ii. Estate Inspection (EI) Management The TCs' performances are measured in various indicators including estate clealiness and estate maintenance. To support the team's operations, the following dashboard developments have been planned : • Estate Inspection dashboards (Phase I) - Operational dashboards for daily scheduling of block inspections, based on current Financial Year's blocks data. • Estate Inspection dashboards (Phase II) - Enhancements of existing dashboards to include additional datasets as parameters to improve inspection planning and scheduling accuracy. The Phase I dashboards has been completed in Power BI, and it currently facilitates in the daily planning and scheduling of inspection of blocks across all TCs. Phase II development aims to build-in additional datasets such as availability of staff, scheduled works within a Block that affects inspection scheduling (e.g. block improvement programmes, refurbishing works) and distance between blocks. You will be involved in the Phase II development to improve the current models' scheduling accuracy. In addition, the enhanced models' designs will also support simulations and drill-downs to allow for uncovering of trends and identifying any TCs, blocks that may need further monitoring as well as identifying variations in the performance upkeep of an estate across the Financial Years and changes to the TCs' models arising from modifications required during a General Election Year.What we are looking for:Internship Perio 5 May 2025 - 8 Aug 2025 We are looking for students from the following disciplines: - Data Science Students pursuing degree in Data Science will be considered.
