Main Roles and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Operations

  • Provide service at the library circulation counter, assisting with item check-outs, returns, and renewals. This role includes working shifts to ensure a consistent service experience for all patrons.

Membership & Payments

  • Oversee library memberships, including registration and renewals, as well as daily and monthly payment processing, ensuring accuracy and policy adherence.

Inter-Library Loans & Facility Management

  • Coordinate inter-library loans for broader resource access and manage library facilities and equipment, ensuring functionality and availability for users.

Cataloguing & Collection Maintenance

  • Organize and catalog library materials in print and digital formats, regularly updating records to maintain a current collection.

Reading Area Upkeep

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of reading areas, ensuring books and materials are shelved and accessible to users.

Outreach & Engagement Programs

  • Plan and execute outreach initiatives, including displays, orientations, and programs to enhance engagement and promote library resources.

Requirements

  • You should minimally possess a Diploma in any discipline with at least 5 years of experience in a library / document archival environment, preferably in the education and training sector.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including academics, educators, artists, and cultural leaders, is a pre-requisite.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders, enhance user experience and to support a collaborative educational environment.
  • To succeed in this role, you should also be proficient in MS Office Suite and IT savvy in digital applications and any relevant technologies for online learning and delivery.
  • Willingness to work on work evening and the weekends whenever required, ensuring coverage and support for library operations during peak period usage times
