JOB DESCRIPTION:

Laboratory Operations:

• Facilitate and support Sales Team to provide and fulfil operational requirements for clinics including sample sending, collection, and kit requests.

• Coordinate servicing and repair of office equipment, laboratory equipment, as well as disposal of faulty items and procurement of new ones.

• Create, revise, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other relevant documents with respect to lab equipment.

• Pack collection kits and ensure sufficient inventory of collection kits at all times.

• Assist in receiving and data entry/ accessioning of samples, as well as any ad-hoc administrative duties.

• Ensure office facilities are functioning e.g. change of light bulbs, carpet cleaning, air conditioner maintenance etc.

• Support logistics team in ensuring prompt action on sample requests from collection to lab operations.

• Assist to ensure adequate stock levels of reagents, consumables, and clinic and office supplies.

Samples Accessioning and Preparation:

· Receive and accession samples that arrive in the laboratory for clinical testing.

· Check and verify that all patient identification, labels and test orders are correct.

· Assign and affixed a unique laboratory accession number or barcode to track the sample throughout the testing process.

· Scan request forms for laboratory administrative assistants to enter the data into LIS.

· Sort, centrifuge and aliquot samples where necessary.

Laboratory/ Fire Safety Officer: (training will be provided)

• Conduct fire safety workshops and drills for staff and organize yearly fire safety exercises in collaboration with building management.

• Ensure compliance with fire safety standards through regular servicing and checks of fire safety equipment including fire extinguishers.

SKILLS:

• Competency in Microsoft Office applications (in particular Microsoft Word & Excel).

• Meticulous and demonstrates ownership in the roles and responsibility at work.

• Uphold integrity in work, systematic in terms of work and documentation.

• Collaborative, good team player and able to work independently.

• Good time management.

• Good personal hygiene and housekeeping to ensure the lab is well-maintained at all times.

• 5.5 day work week
