What the role is:You will support the development and implementation of our data strategy which involves leveraging data as a strategic asset to drive business growth, improve decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency.You will also be responsible for developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and practices to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our data assets.What you will be working on:Data Strategy:Create and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with STB's business goals and objectives.Work with various business units within STB to understand their data needs and provide guidance that inform strategic decisions.Identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and lead initiatives to enhance STB data capabilities.Prepare progress updates to senior management and Ministry e.g. Annual Data Report, Annual Government Data Strategy Key Performance Indicators Report.Data Governance:Develop and maintain a data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities.Work with business and IT stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of data governance and advocate data management practices within STB.Monitor compliance with data governance policies and recommend improvements as necessary.Conduct training and awareness programs on data governance best practices across the organization.Support data management initiatives, including data classification, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.Assist in the identification and mitigation of data-related risks.What we are looking for:At least 4 years of relevant experienceStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with an eye for detailStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teamsStrong planning, organisational and time management skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task and work well under pressureAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience in strategy and policy development workKnowledge of applying data concepts to businessKnowledge or experience with regulatory complianceStrong understanding of data governance principles and practicesKnowledge of local and global data regulations and standards (e.g., PDPA, GDPR) is a plusAbout Singapore Tourism Board:The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is the lead development agency for tourism, one of Singapore's key economic sectors.
