The successful candidate has a unique vantage point looking across all functional areas and the overall strategic direction of the company. Responsible for working with senior management to coordinate and document the strategic planning process for M1 Enterprise Sales. Facilitates the deployment and implementation of the strategic plan, assists in the development of tactical and operational plans. Monitors and reports on progress as indicated. At this level, the position has a direct contribution to the development of business and/or functional strategies and responsibility for managing multiple teams of professionals.
Responsibilities
Strategy Planning
- Identify corporate-level strategy topics, drive alignment on direction, develop a clear plan of actions, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive execution.
- Partner with Finance to drive annual operation planning (AOP).
- Responsible for the annual rolling 24 months and 5-year outlook for the enterprise business, including base, upside, and downside scenarios and assumptions.
- Serves as strategic liaison for key organizational initiatives between all divisions.
- Assesses current models of business operations and develops appropriate new models.
- Engage with senior leadership on a frequent basis to present findings, recommend initiatives and drive execution.
Commercial
- Manage the operational budget for the Enterprise Business Unit.
- Responsible for leading commercial insights and analytics.
- Guide the revenue classification for new products and provide revenue insights by products and sales segments.
- Custodian of Sales Force effectiveness for sales forecasting and reporting.
- Cross BU collaboration - build and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders, driving collaboration across multiple functions.
Bid Management
- Lead the pursuit and bid support needs working with cross functional team leaders to determine priorities.
- Oversee and prioritize all tenders workload and schedule.
- Coordinate, consult on and facilitate win strategy - identify win themes, lead discussion, create compelling messages, then guide team to execute the strategy
- Proactively manage tender processes of varying scale and complexity, including bid scheduling, compliance, and governance, having full accountability for bid management to achieve sophisticated, consistent and highly focused bids and offers.
- Work with sales personnel, engineering team and various cross functional teams from finance, legal and procurement for preparation of tender business case.
- Identify, develop and implement process improvement initiatives for the order and tendering team.
- Responsible for contract review and order processing for projects won.
Requirements
- 10 years’ experience in strategy / business operations / business development with at least 3 years of experience in leading a business operations function.
- Leadership experience in a P&L setting preferred.
- Analytical and creative problem solver, excellent communicator, and a natural leader.
- Passionate about structuring and solving complex problems.
- Ability to lead through influence, working alongside organizational leadership (Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, and Executive Team).
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Previous experience with Salesforce and Tableau strong plus.
