Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) capabilities, including Source of Wealth Assessment, Name Screening, and KYC (Know Your Customer) scoring for client onboarding and client reviews. This role is part of a high-visibility, bank-wide Client Life Cycle Management program.
  • Define the product roadmap, create user journey mapping, and manage the product backlog using Design Thinking principles. Work with Agile squads to build the NextGen platform, aiming for unified process digitalization and embedding AI & data analytics capabilities.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement and communication plans to proactively collaborate with impacted stakeholders. This includes gathering business requirements, mapping processes and user journeys, and designing system changes for seamless transitions across business functions.
  • Prepare clear and concise materials for steering committees, including project status updates, risk assessments, issues, and mitigation plans to inform senior stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Partner with both Group and Technology teams, as well as external vendors (as necessary), to develop scalable IT solutions that meet business needs while minimizing disruption.
  • Implement automated data analytics solutions using Python to enable self-service analytics, including manual data extraction, transformation, and aggregation for regulatory requests and risk remediation.
  • Implement and maintain dashboards using data visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikView for compliance reporting and monitoring key emerging risks.
  • Formulate test plans and cases, and lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing) execution with end-users.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to ensure stakeholders understand the new processes and system changes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Product Owner in Client Onboarding or Client Lifecycle Management, with a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-motivated individual with a passion for driving change and innovation.
  • Strong analytical skills to break down complex issues and develop sound, rational solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to steer meetings and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to understand business needs and collaborate with IT teams to design human-centric solutions that translate into functional specifications.
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities to obtain stakeholder buy-in and drive issue resolution.
  • Hands-on experience in creating business requirement documents, process mapping, and user stories, and reviewing functional specifications.
  • Understanding of AML compliance or risk management in financial institutions is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Waterfall Project Management or Agile methodologies, particularly in writing user stories, and managing product backlogs.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Visio, JIRA, and QlikView. Knowledge of VBA is a plus.
  • Certifications in Project Management, Scrum Master, or Product Owner are preferred.
  • Consulting experience with hands-on process re-engineering, product management, risk change management, or data product ownership is highly desirable.
