The Nestle Purina Petcare R&D in Singapore is a member of the global Petcare R&D network with existing footprints in North America and Europe. Our purpose is to create richer lives for pets and people who love them. Our mission is to discover, develop, deploy and industrialize pet food innovations in the global markets. The Petcare Hub in Singapore will be co-located with Nestle Purina AOA, and provide direct support to the NPP AOA and Greater China commercial, technical and operational partners.
As a Nutritionist, you will be part of the cross functional team in an international environment. You will lead and support applied nutrition research projects for Nestlé Purina Petcare R&D. You will use your deep technical understanding and scientific knowledge along with strong communication and presentation skills to develop new technologies and provide expertise and insights to companion animal nutrition.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Initiate and lead research projects aligned to Nestlé Purina’s strategic areas related to pet health through nutrition
- Function as a project team leader including providing project leadership and completing required documentation in a timely manner
- Serve as a team member on assigned projects to provide nutritional and scientific support, as assigned
- Formulate research hypotheses, design experimental plans, and execute scientific studies
- Effectively communicate results through oral presentations and written technical reports
- Conduct all activities in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and all required Company Policies & Procedures
Other Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Leverage veterinary and consumer insights to drive innovation that promotes health and wellness of dogs and cats
- Stay current in nutrition literature and intellectual property and propose new research approaches, methodologies, and technologies that may be applicable to Nestlé Purina
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals, present at key industry conferences, and participate in Nestlé Purina-sponsored symposia to introduce innovations, as requested
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in nutrition or related field
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in designing, managing, and publishing clinical research in animal nutrition
- Diet formulation experience
- Technical/functional knowledge in the area of metabolism or gastrointestinal physiology
Skills:
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a matrix organization, requiring strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional team work
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills to a broad range of audiences
- Excellent organizational skills
