The candidate is to work closely with the Reporting Officer to grow the University's Executive Education suite of programmes and enrolments. The candidate will need to work with internal and external stakeholders so as to ensure that programmes continue to be relevant to the industry and clients’ needs as well as ensuring that programmes are well subscribed to.
This will directly support the University’s key goal of growing the Continuing Education segment, whilst also making impact to the industry. In addition, the candidate will provide leadership and direction in the formulation and execution of business development strategies and support the strategic direction of University's Executive Education.
The responsibilities of this role are:
Business Development
- Develop a multi-channelled marketing strategy including growth and sustainability plans
- Research and strategise around industry plans to implement into the University's Executive Education programmes
- Pro-actively engage corporations to understand their business as well as training and development needs
- Develop proposals for clients to meet their training requirements
- Source and cultivate new and existing productive relationships with senior leaders, including C-Suite executives, so that they are engaged on a broader level with the Business School
Finance Initiatives
- Ensure that programmes launched are financially sustainable
- Work with managers on the drafting of budget for clients
- Responsible for the P&L budget for Executive Education programmes
- Ensure that all programme fees received (via credit card and cheques) are accurately accounted for and invoices related to promotional events are given to the Finance Manager/Account Executive for processing in a timely manner, and that corporate policies are adhered to
- Work with Finance busines partners to resolve issues so as to ensure prompt accounting and reporting of finance matters with regards to the programmes
Collaboration Initiatives
- Maintain contact with all clients/participants to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Work closely with operations team to ensure smooth and professional delivery
- Work collaboratively and closely with colleagues, staff and faculty
- Understand the various funding schemes available and to apply accordingly, as well as explain to clients
- To work with many different clients with different requirements, and to ensure the same high level service standards are delivered to the clients
- To be top of the latest developments in the learning and development space, and to be able to engage with clients at different levels
- Effectively maintain and build relationships with internal teams, external agencies and marketing partners to develop and execute strategic outcomes, to support the business development objectives
Operations
- Engage with the University's Executive Education Operations team lead to meet on the deliverables in relation to the customer experience and overall efficacy
- Understand Skills future funding framework to develop programmes in line with Skills future
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Minimum 8 years of experience. Experience in academic environment will be advantageous. An understanding of the adult learning environment and ecosystem is necessary.
- Candidates with prior work experience in business consultancies, as well as organisations that provide L&D/ Executive Development would be preferred
- Proficient in general software applications that facilitate work operations
- Ability to interact with people of varying levels and backgrounds including senior executives & faculty
- Ability to multi-task and meticulous to details
- A pleasant disposition and able to work under tight deadlines
- Good team-player and able to work independently
- Analytical and thorough in his/her thought-process
