Our Team
You will be working closely with Mass Production, Quality, Product Design, Automation Mechanical Design, and Machine Build Teams. This collaborative environment ensures that all aspects of automation and manufacturing are seamlessly integrated and optimized.
What You Will Do
- Provides controls feasibility and equipment cost estimates to automation development team.
- Works with mechanical engineering department to determine design complete dates. Prioritizes work to fulfill deadlines.
- Specifies Control Hardware and generates Bills of Material, Designs Control Panels and Enclosures, Creates Electrical & Pnuematic Schematics.
- Assists in executing the machine debug, qualification, and installation
- Provides technical support for the launch of equipment produced by the LR-Automation Team. Responsibilities will include traveling to mass production facilities for machine install & qualification, training of technicians and operators to ensure the proper and safe operation of equipment and supports any software changes in the field.
- Attends Design Reviews and PFMEA’s while working with mechanical engineers to improve current and future designs of automation.
- Tracks projects using internal methods for summarizing component cost, labor, and leadtime. Develops accurate, up-to-date BOM’s and Spare Parts Lists
- Understands, supports, and contributes to complete projects according to internal product development procedures, TQM and IS/QS-9000 requirements. Embraces Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- International Travel: Up to 20% per year.
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 3+ years of Control Panel Design & PLC Programming experience.
- 2+ years of Project Management experience.
- Proficiency in Yaskawa NON-IEC PLC Programming Language.
- Experience in generating industrial electrical schematics, including safety guarding standards.
- Expertise in the design and documentation of machine controls.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- HMI Programming experience (Redlion, Pro-Face).
- Experience with Vision Systems (Cognex or Keyence).
- Scheduling and budgeting experience.
- Design experience with electrical connectors or cable assemblies and/or automotive assemblies.
- Some PC language programming skills (.Net or C++).
