Job Description

The Head of Technology is responsible for overseeing the technology strategy, development, and operations across all business units within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of technology trends, a strategic mindset, and strong leadership skills to drive innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  2. Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance of technology infrastructure to support business operations and growth.
  3. Ensure the security and integrity of the organization's technology systems and data through the implementation of best practices and security measures.
  4. Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
  5. Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  6. Develop and manage the technology budget, optimizing resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Collaborate with executive leadership, business units, and other stakeholders to understand their technology needs and priorities.
  8. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of technology initiatives and investments.
  9. Lead and mentor a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in technology roles, with minimum 5 years in management positions.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Able to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience driving organizational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics and emerging technologies.
