Currently House of Shipping is recruiting for Trade Specialist for one of their leading global container shipping company.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for Managing the pricing and pricing related processes, Drive performance basis budgets/targets set, Support development of revenue, volumes and customer base in all locations under geo-scope responsibility, Liaison and reporting market and trade Intel and business-related matters with the Manager of Trade Management.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Understand the types of containers, vessels, and movement of containers.
  • Clear knowledge of the Liner/Container business.
  • Effectively handle rate requests from different agents in the client network.
  • Effectively consider various factors for special rate approvals (competitor rates, shipper’s current and past volume support, overall booking, and inventory position).
  • Maintain updated MRGs in SAP and relevant systems/portals.
  • Approve and update the SRR.
  • Maintain a repository of market rates and keep a record of fluctuations.
  • Close coordination with stakeholders (Sales, OPS, EQU)
  • Read contracts and understand the terms and conditions (in conjunction with Documentation & Claims).
  • Keep the GM-Trade and Global Director-Trade appraised of revenue movements.
  • Maintain close coordination with Trade Management stakeholders.
  • Contribute material for the GD-Trade’s monthly report.
  • Ad hoc tasks and reporting related to Trade Management - as required.

Education requirements

Diploma/ Bachelors degree or equivalent, good computer skills (shipping software, MS Office - Excel)

Knowledge of Shipping process and procedures.

Language requirements

English – Fluent (required)

Background and experience

Minimum 2 - 4 years relevant experience within a Liner/NVOCC environment.

Knowledge of pricing, revenue management

Knowledge of budgeting, revenue/volume reporting

Competencies and skills

Time management and organizational skills.

Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills when under pressure and tight work deadlines

Excellent excel skills.
