About the role:
We have a great opportunity for a Finance Director for the APAC region with the energy and experience to lead the Finance function and the ability to lead the business to improved, sustainable profitable growth in future. The Regional FD will be responsible for managing and controlling the financial performance of the region, providing commercial support to the regional business leader and their team, forecasting and budgeting, developing and coordinating relevant financial and risk analysis, driving profit and cash improvement on an ongoing basis and adequately designing and controlling complex procure-to-pay processes with customers, suppliers, and intercompany business units.
Main duties/ responsibilities:
Responsible and accountable for all aspects of APAC Finance across the business including:
• Strategically planning for the financial success & growth of the business
• Establishing the operating rhythm of the Finance function, building disciplines and processes, to drive the commercial operation and stay on track to reporting, forecasting and budget cycles driven by global requirements
• Leading and implementing effective financial planning & forecasting processes
• Ensuring accountability for financial performance in terms of volumes, margins and cash flow.
• Owning the internal reporting structure of the business, ensuring its development anticipating and mirroring the requirements of the business
• Providing commercial support and analysis to manage risk and drive overall financial performance
• Supporting major new business initiatives in terms of financial modelling, evaluating financial risk and supporting commercial negotiations
• Maintaining high quality financial reporting standards, ensuring that reporting is in line with the latest best practice and that this is cascaded through the different geographies.
• Opening new market entities as growth permits in a standardised, scalable methodology to ensure best in practice financial controls are in place
• Implement the optimal finance support structure including both internal resources and outsourced accounting partners
• Developing and implementing tax compliance, tax planning and treasury management policies with support from other group functions
• Supporting M&A activity through either direct due diligence or the co-ordination of advisors
• Drawing on commercial judgement when discussing investment or other operational considerations
• Leading teams by example and developing and training the next generation of Finance professionals
• Acting as a thought partner to the regional business leader and other members of the business’s global and regional Leadership team
Qualifications:
• Fully qualified accountant / CPA is a consideration, but not a requirement
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• MBA a consideration, but not a requirement
Skills and experience:
• At least 15 years’ financial, commercial or accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and International Accounting Standards would be a benefit.

• Good communication skills, including the ability to present to senior team
