Job Title: Platform Operations Engineer

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to design and deliver best-in-class server, storage, and trading platforms for clients and internal infrastructure in line with company standards and strategic framework. The role requires collaboration with the Account Management, Project Management, and Client Service Delivery teams to meet the requirements of tier-one banks and other key clients. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented Engineer with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The role also involves working closely with the Service Operations (NOC) Team to manage escalations effectively and share knowledge within the team.

Responsibilities and Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Design & Deployment:Design, deploy, and resolve escalated problems for global client server solutions.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving:Collaborate with internal/external clients, operations teams, financial exchanges, and other engineers to design, automate, research, and develop system solutions. Participate in business analysis, issue investigation, and resolution.
  • Platform Stability:Ensure stability of all company-managed platforms.
  • Configuration & Implementation:Construct valid configurations for implementation based on design and technical concepts.
  • Support & Maintenance:Support the deployment and maintenance of servers, storage, and systems management products.
  • Configuration Management:Apply configuration changes through change control systems and processes.
  • Peer Review:Conduct peer reviews of configurations scheduled for deployment.
  • Production Changes:Perform production changes in a diligent and professional manner.
  • On-Call Support:Participate in an on-call rotation for support escalations.
  • Daily Meetings:Participate in daily meetings to review changes and discuss underlying impacts.
  • Client Communication:Communicate effectively with clients and teams to manage project lifecycles.
  • Mentoring:Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when needed.

Education, Skills, and Background (Including Education and Experience Requirements):

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working on large-scale bare metal solutions in a service provider or large enterprise environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with HP, Dell, and/or Lenovo Intel-based physical hardware.
  • RHCE certified or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Advanced understanding and deployment experience in:Operating Systems: Linux/Unix
    Scripting: Bash and Python
    Network Services: DNS, DHCP, FTP
    IP Protocols: ICMP, UDP, TCP
    Configuration Management Tools: Ansible or similar tools
    Storage Solutions: SAN and NAS
    Volume Management: RAID and volume management
    Virtualization: VMWare and KVM
  • Familiarity with WAN/LAN networking concepts and relational database technologies.
  • Understanding of JIRA as a ticketing system.
  • Diligent and highly detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, especially in high-pressure financial environments.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high workload.
  • Self-motivated and a driven self-starter.
  • Willingness to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and support the development of others.
  • Interest in cutting-edge technology.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
  • Experience with trading infrastructure is advantageous.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid position. The role holder will participate in a shift rotation, working 5 days a week, covering the hours of 07:30 – 16:30 from Monday to Sunday (including at least one weekend day per week).
