My client in the logistics industry is looking for a Finance manager to be based in Changi.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing logistics operations to identify and reduce costs, such as transportation, warehousing, and inventory expenses. This involves monitoring expenses across the supply chain and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Preparing budgets specific to logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and delivery costs, and conducting forecasting to project future financial needs based on expected changes in operations or demand.
  • Preparing detailed reports on logistics costs, revenue, and profitability. This includes analysis to improve efficiency, evaluating costs per route, and optimizing resources.
  • Identifying financial risks related to supply chain disruptions, fuel price fluctuations, and other logistics challenges. Developing contingency plans and insurance strategies to mitigate these risks is essential.
  • Monitoring cash flow related to logistics activities, ensuring timely payments to suppliers, and managing cash reserves to cover operational needs, especially in high-demand periods. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations in logistics, such as import/export tax laws, customs duties, and other regulatory financial requirements, often collaborating with legal or regulatory teams.
  • Supporting the organization’s long-term strategy by planning for financial scalability in logistics. This includes budgeting for technology investments, like automation, to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Leading finance team within the logistics division, guiding on financial policies, supporting logistics managers with financial insights, and ensuring proper reporting structures.

Requirements:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
  • 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or warehousing is highly valued.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills are critical for managing logistics-specific data and generating reports.
