The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Regional President, Asia Pacific to provide comprehensive strategic leadership to IJM’s Program and Operations in Asia Pacific. This role ensures IJM’s mission is effectively implemented through high-impact programs, sustainable and efficient operations, high-performing teams, and strategic partnerships.
The Regional President is responsible for leading a regional team, optimizing resource allocations, and ensuring compliance with enterprise strategy and policies. In a highly collaborative and dynamic global environment, the Regional President will lead a community of Christian spiritual formation in the mission of protecting targeted populations of people in poverty from violence in accordance with IJM’s global strategy.
The Regional President will serve as a member of the IJM Global Leadership Team (GLT), developing and implementing the execution of the enterprise-wide strategy and representing the Global center to the organization and to the Asia Pacific Region, by enforcing the standards, policies, and processes that govern the efficient and effective operation of the global enterprise.
This position is based in one of IJM’s Asia Pacific office locations and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Candidates must be from Asia Pacific to apply.

Key Result Areas:
The success of this role is measured by the following KRAs:
- Achieve Protection targets in all targeted jurisdictions within Asia Pacific.
- Progress toward protection, program benchmark, activation, survivor leadership KPIs, and Program Comparative Analysis.
- Implementing country grant acquisition metrics (Grants Scorecard).
- Effective support to other regions and global functions in executing the global strategy.
- Achieve Protection in all targeted jurisdictions within Asia Pacific, in accordance with the global strategy, as quickly and efficiently as possible – this currently includes two programs covering five countries (Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia & the Philippines).
- Identify and evaluate regional needs and opportunities, ensuring the region’s programs and initiatives are relevant and impactful in achieving the enterprise vision.
- Develop clear long-term goals and operational strategies that maximize program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of all programs within the region.
- Master program impact and outcomes, ensuring adherence to goals, timelines and budgets.
- Lead efforts to scale successful initiatives across the region and maintain high standards of program delivery.
- Manage regional budgets and financial planning and ensure compliance with enterprise financial policies and regulations.
- Build and lead a culture of world-class professional and operational excellence where members find themselves, year by year, becoming more like Christ as they pursue together the intention to obey Christ in everything through a course of common spiritual disciplines in a community of prayerful love.
- Build and empower heathy, high- performing program teams that are strategically aligned with the global mission, drive IJM’s culture, values, and brand; and deliver protection in targeted jurisdictions.
- Activate Agents of Change to accelerate Protection in targeted jurisdictions.
- Generate institutional revenue from Agents of Change to resource and support programming in the region.
- Develop leaders who exemplify IJM’s values to carry out the mission in the region and to fill global roles.
- Serve as the primary representative inside and outside of the organization, building relationships with key stakeholders including governments, donors, and partner organizations.
- Project IJM’s brand, mainstream our theory of change and scale our influence both in the region and globally.
- Closely collaborate with global functions to ensure effective and efficient delivery of shared services at the regional level.
- Fully engage in enterprise processes, frameworks, and initiatives as a member of the GLT to provide executive leadership to the mission.
- Ensure programs and operations are well integrated with the Region’s fundraising and advancement efforts.
- Graduate degree in business administration, organizational development, law, or equivalent combination of bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in executive management, including experience with leadership and management of a business unit of $5 million or more in annual operations.
- Demonstrated success in building successful partnerships that drive and scale impact.
- Demonstrated success in achieving aggressive and sustained enterprise growth, taking operations to scale, and creating a thriving business environment of exceptional innovation that consistently achieves mission-critical goals.
