The job holder will be supporting the communications strategy for IMDA’s policy and programmes. He/she will develop messaging, communications plans, strategies for IMDA’s initiatives. This includes managing relations with media, internal and external stakeholders, and spearheading issues management for IMDA’s telecoms and postal portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Partner divisions to understand divisions’ priorities and effectively develop and implement communications plans, and media materials, specific to Singapore’s telecoms and postal sectors
- Coordinate efforts with other agencies, ministries, licensees where required
- Oversee all aspects of media management work, including media briefings, materials, media pitches and interview requests, as well as talking points for speaking engagement and speeches
- Develop audience awareness for IMDA’s policy, programmes and initiatives
- Execute IMDA’s crisis communications plans for unplanned scenarios (e.g disruption to critical infrastructure services)
- Work closely with various teams to harmonise plans and messaging with intended audiences (e.g with QSM)
Job Requirements:
- Background in Public relations/Communications/Journalism or a related discipline
- At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Government Comms
- Experience working with and pitching to reporters from manpower, tech, media, business beats across media channels an advantage (but not a pre-requisite)
- Experience with managing 3rd party agencies/vendors/suppliers
- Good communications and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging external and internal stakeholders, including multi-agency and cross-functional teams
- Ability to understand business units’ needs and translate these needs into impactful communications plans
- Curiosity and interest in the tech and media industry
