Job Description:
You will report to the Head of Department (Science) and your duties will include:
- Preparing Physics lessons and Scheme of Work according to the required syllabuses
- Teaching Lower Sec (Year 7 and 8) Science
- Conducting learning activities in the classroom and laboratory
- Setting and vetting examination papers
- Invigilating tests and examinations
- Marking assignments and examination scripts
- Assessing and recording students’ progress according to department and school policies
- Organising relevant events, competitions, activities when needed
- Providing pastoral care and manage students’ discipline; performing all aspects of Care Teacher duties if assigned
- Completing all administrative duties related to teaching Physics
- Maintaining good communication with students, parents and colleagues
- Attending Parent-Teacher-Meetings, average 2 times a year
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Physics-related field from university
- A Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) is a plus
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in Physics in a school setting
- Familiar with Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level, Cambridge IGCSE, WACE and/or IBDP
- Meticulous and well-organised
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
