The Opportunity
Our client is a global player specialized in the trading and merchandising of agri-commodities. They own a diversified portfolio with operations in over 100 countries, activities spanning the entire value chain, from farm to table. The company has enhanced its Freight and Global Markets operations, shipping over 50 million tons of cargo annually and positioning itself as a leading global dry bulk freight operator. They are currently seeking a Vessel Operator/ Senior Vessel Operator to join their Freight Platform in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Effective oversight and close coordination with counterparties in various remote locations
- Oversee and manage all aspects of assigned Dry Cargo vessels' shipping operations
- Coordinate voyage instructions with vessel owners, ship masters, charterers, trading teams, and other key stakeholders
- Handle post-fixture activities and manage external relationships with customers and suppliers. Lead and support process improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Degree in Shipping/ Maritime, Supply Chain & Logistics, or other related fields
- Min. 3 years/ 5 years (for senior) of relevant working experience as Operator of Voyage/ Time Charter dry bulk vessel, at least 8 vessels simultaneously
- Knowledge of macroeconomics including trade flows
- Customer oriented, good relationship building with key accounts (Internal Customers and Shipowners)
- Commercial Maturity/ Shipping or Economic studies
- Proficiency using Excel, Word, shipping system especially IMOS
- Good communications in English, other language(s) would be advantageous
