A LEADING GLOBAL INDEPENDENT BROKER
Howden is a specialist commercial insurance broker. Its regional footprint covers Singapore (regional headquarters), Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines. It is part of the London-headquartered Howden Broking Group, a leading independent, global broker with offices in over 30 countries worldwide.
The job holder will support the Strategy & Operations Director (SOD) for all operations related activities (including IT & Broking Systems) to ensure systems and processes meet Howden Singapore’s goals, achieve business targets and reflect business practices within the Group.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the SOD in monitoring all relevant policies and procedures to facilitate management control, quality assurance and to ensure that all internal operations achieve their business objectives.
- Assist the SOD in improving processes and maintaining oversight of Howden Singapore’s Broking system (Novidea) to ensure these deliver operational efficiencies and reliable data to support the business. (achieved through working with Regional Novidea Project Team)
- Assist the SOD in maintaining oversight of Howden Singapore’s IT systems to ensure these meet user needs and are fit for purpose (achieved through working with Heads of IT Application and IT Infrastructure)
- Look for opportunities to improve operational efficiency thereby reducing operational cost for the Howden Singapore.
- Assist the SOD in implementing and monitoring transformational change culture through digitization.
- Works with the SOD to improve overall data quality to support the business application and information analytics.
- Assist the SOD in developing operational metrics to support the analysis of work processes thereby enabling the improvement of work processes throughout Howden Singapore.
- Assist the SOD in the management and reduction of operational costs.
- Assist the SOD in the management of physical office space and relevant operational policies such as Health and Safety, Business Continuity Management, ESG, Sustainability, etc.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:
- Able to build relationship across all levels
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
- Experience in Insurance/Broking is an added advantage
- Experienced in process standardization and data management
- Able to investigate, identify risk, implement solutions
- Good project management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
