RESPONSIBILITIES

The Physiotherapy Lecturer is responsible for planning, delivering, assessing, and continuously improving training programs to ensure students meet the required competency standards. This role ensures training remains relevant, up-to-date, and compliant with HMI Institute and external accreditation standards.

MAIN DUTIES

  • To carry out the duties of a lecturer, counselor and mentor to students assigned to you in your course of duties.
  • To implement and assess various assessment methods to evaluate student competencies, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes and professional standards.
  • To manage, coordinate and supervise course instructions and assessments effectively, without compromising training standards and quality

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Design, develop, and enhance curriculum materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and practical training components, to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the design and launch of new courses and programs to address emerging needs in physiotherapy and healthcare.
  • Regularly review and update existing course content to reflect advancements in physiotherapy practices and align with current healthcare industry needs.
  • Participate in curriculum review meetings to ensure continuous improvement in course quality, relevance, and instructional methodologies.
  • Undertake related tasks and projects as assigned by the organization to support the broader mission and objectives of HMI Institute.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • At least a bachelor degree in physiotherapy from a recognized university;
  • Obtained Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA).
  • Currently registered as a physiotherapist in Singapore
Skills/Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of physiotherapy principles, techniques, and practices;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals;
  • Proficient in relevant software and educational tool;
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Working Experiences

  • At least 5 years of experience in physiotherapy or occupational therapy role;
  • At least 2 years of experience as a therapy educator would be advantageous.
