Job Summary
As a Manager for Supplier Engineering at ResMed, you will lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) in driving supplier performance, quality improvements, and compliance with ResMed’s standards. This is a hands-on role with a focus on developing supplier relationships, implementing quality standards, and mentoring engineering talent to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, cost-effective products across ResMed’s manufacturing operations.
Let's Talk About the Role:
Supplier Performance & Improvement: Lead supplier performance management, deploying KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities, and conducting regular performance reviews with suppliers.
Quality Issue Resolution: Drive timely investigations and resolutions for supplier quality issues, ensuring prompt and systematic communication with key stakeholders.
Team Development: Develop, motivate, and mentor SQEs, focusing on leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to SQEs, ensuring adherence to technical and quality standards across supplier activities.
Quality System Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of ResMed’s Quality System, ensuring compliance with GMP, regulatory standards, and business procedures.
Process Improvement: Assist in developing and implementing plans to enhance ResMed’s Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) processes.
Resource Allocation & Prioritization: Oversee resource allocation, ensuring timely and cost-effective support for team deliverables.
Change Management: Manage supplier-initiated process changes, maintaining open communication on status and ensuring timely implementation.
Management Systems Implementation: Implement and monitor management systems for health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance within your team.
Let's Talk About Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading and managing engineering teams.
Proven experience promoting best practices and leading change management initiatives to align team performance with business goals.
Strong people management, engineering management, and quality assurance skills.
Knowledge of ResMed’s product design, assembly, and testing processes.
Expertise in problem-solving tools and quality processes, including A3, 8D, KT Problem Solving, and DMAIC methodologies.
Advanced communication, negotiation, and business acumen.
Solid understanding of various manufacturing processes.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
Preferred:
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably in medical devices.
