The Opportunity

The Product Development team at Sunbird Bio in Singapore is searching for an innovative, motivated, and inquisitive Scientist to help advance our neurodegenerative disease programs along the development pipeline. The ideal candidate will engage and lead a team of researchers to design, develop and validate immuno-assays on a novel diagnostic platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project goals are met in a timely manner and to communicate the results to relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to scope and manage projects within requirements and ensure timely execution.
  • Design and execute experiments for development and optimization of immuno-diagnostic assays according to required specifications.
  • Constantly survey literature for new ideas that for the optimization of immunoassays
  • Analyse, summarize and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide scientific input in both R&D meetings and multifunctional meetings.
  • Mentor junior team members in experimental design and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • PhD qualification in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related disciplines.
  • Extensive experience in developing assays on different immunoassay platforms (ELISA, Quanterix, MSD, Elecsys) is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in protein synthesis and characterization with tools such as SPR (Biacore, Horiba, Octet etc.) to study protein-protein interactions and binding kinetics preferred
  • Familiarity with general molecular biology and biochemical techniques such as protein conjugation
  • Experience in bioassays and working with human samples is a plus
  • Prior industry assay development experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory or quality assurance processes is an advantage.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to lead or be part of the team.
  • Able to work independently and in a collaborative manner with an interdisciplinary team.
