Job Scope:

Category Manager is responsible for optimizing the performance of assigned category across the enterprise, with a focus on managing supplier relationships, driving category consolidation, and ensuring high service levels.

The role is centered around aligning category strategies with broader business objectives to achieve improve commercial outcomes and foster innovation

This is a high-impact, solo contributor role, the Category Manager must work closely with both internal teams and external partners to enhance overall category performance and drive business success within a dynamic, cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Execution: Support and lead the execution of logistics and transportation initiatives, influencing over $100M in spend. Driving consolidation efforts within Facility Management to improve cost efficiency, operational excellence and service delivery

Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong mutually beneficial partnerships with key suppliers, centralise demand to ensure alignment with quality, competitive pricing, and delivery standards

Market Insight & Expertise: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging market developments to guide decision-making and drive category innovation

Contract Management & Negotiation: Oversee key supplier contracts, to ensure compliance with agreed terms. Lead negotiations as needed to optimize value and meet evolving business needs and ensure continuous improvement

Performance Monitoring: Conduct supplier performance review, track key metrics such as adoption rate, cost efficiency, and overall category performance to ensure alignment business objective and benefits realised

Data Analysis & Management Reporting: Prepare and present regular performance reports, offering data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making

Pipeline & Demand Management: Partner with key business stakeholders to develop visibility into project pipelines, influence demand, and design initiatives that drive Cis. Align these initiatives with organisational goal and timeline

Ad-hoc Support: Provide support for other ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to the broader success of Category Management function and organisational objective

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain or related field; professional certifications like CIPS or CPSM are a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in Category Management, with expertise across multiple categories. Experience managing both indirect and direct is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is critical
  • Experience within Logistics & Transportation and Facility Management categories is advantageousStrong knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management and category optimization strategies
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver measurable, impactful results on time
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships at all levels
