Company Overview

The Harley Street Heart & Vascular Centre (HSHVC) is a leading heart and vascular specialist group practice in Singapore. HSHVC’s clinics are currently based within three high-end private hospitals in Singapore (Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital) and has one outpatient centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The group currently consists of four cardiologists and one vascular surgeon with plans to increase the number of specialists and clinic locations within Singapore and the region over the next few years.

HSHVC is part of the HMI group (hmimedical.com) and works closely with the HMI senior management and operations team to grow within Singapore and the region and improve efficiency.

Given its vision and growth trajectory, HSHVC is seeking to invite a General Manager onto its management team.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. The person should be highly motivated, independent and possess the competencies to actualize the mission of the group through financial and non-financial milestone success. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as working with senior management to develop the growth and business.

Requirements

1. A good Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance. MBA/MSc (Applied Finance) is preferred.

2. Proven experience at a Senior Manager or equivalent level in a healthcare services context.

3. More than 10 years working with at least the last 5 in senior management (preferably) in a public-listed company or large healthcare group in the healthcare industry.

4. Well-versed in preparing a healthcare entity for growth by driving business expansion activities such as:-

a. accessing the capital markets;

b. driving corporate activities i.e. M&A and deal structuring; and

c. strengthening internal capabilities i.e. HR, Finance, IP Rights and Marketing, among others.

5. A person of integrity, good-natured personality and a strong decision maker.

6. A resourceful individual that bears excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

1. To manage the day-to-day business operations of the group and oversee the work of the operations, human resources, accounting and marketing managers.

2. Work closely with doctors within the group to ensure optimal patient delivery and maintain standards of care.

3. Execute strategic initiatives covering centre development, sales and marketing (secure patient referral channels; develop and implement annual marketing plans for the different sub-specialties within the group, including market strategy, sales forecast, projected market penetration), commercial contracting, project management, operations and human resource management (ensure a high-performance team).

4. Integrate and standardize services (IT, operational/ clinical, pharmacy) among all the HSHVC clinics in Singapore and the region to improve operational efficiency.

5. Help drive an increase in profits while managing the overall operations of the company.

6. Maintain market and competitor intelligence to support and refine proactive strategies for direct/indirect marketing and new project development.

7. Participate and support initiatives to bring on board new medical specialists and allied partners for the group.

8. Develop and manage group synergy with other divisions of the HMI family and work with the HMI senior management to increase overall revenue.

9. Proactively source for regional opportunities and partners to expand the group presence and brand in South East Asia.
