INTRODUCTION

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity within our Electronics and Industrial Finishing (EIF) business for an Applications Technology Leader Leader, to be located at our Innovation Lab in Singapore.

The EIF Business develops novel Connector, IC Substrate/Lead Frame, Passives, and Plastic metallization solutions serving automotive, telecom, data center, consumer, and other electronics end markets.

As a Leader, you will focus on the development and commercialization of novel metallization chemistries and processes. You must demonstrate excellent technical and application expertise related to metallization processes. You are an experienced leader with strong technical, communication, project, and team management skills. You may also serve as site leader, responsible for the seamless operation of our labs.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for leading a group of talented Scientists and Engineers focused on the development and successful implementation of our advanced metallization solutions. You will have close collaboration with Commercial, Marketing, EHS and project management functions to successfully deliver market-leading technology solutions. You are expected to have strong customer engagement and product promotion to secure successful product installations and confirm critical to market technical requirements.

A candidate for this role must have the potential to:

  • Lead and motivate a team of scientists and engineers, establish a culture of safety, trust and accountability while meeting the speed to market demands
  • Set the highest safety standards for all operations
  • Research and develop new products, processes and evaluate new opportunities
  • Lead a project team through product ideation to successful commercialization
  • Gather insight from customers and end users on emerging industry technology trends to validate product development priorities
  • Recognize emerging trends by close collaboration with customers to validate new market opportunities and define critical deliverables for new products
  • Assess new applications for our existing product portfolio
  • Provide technical support to existing and future customers by assisting with processing and product selection
  • Represent the business at technical trade shows and conferences and effectively promote new products, DuPont capability, and identify emerging technology synergies
  • Be motivated to learn new technology and communicate their understanding effectively to the organization and their team
  • Actively manage multiple value chain customer engagements, while working alongside technical, marketing, and commercial partners
  • Support product development and customer troubleshooting as part of maintaining portfolio health
  • Analyze competitor & market landscape and incorporate information to maintain expert understanding of a technology/market area
  • Promote a strong safety culture required for a safe working environment


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) years working experience in the field of electronic materials
  • MS or PhD in chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field
  • Master’s degree with relevant industry experience would be considered
  • Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers
  • Previous people leadership experience is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal and written communication to team members and management on all aspects of program activity. Demonstrated ability to make clear, persuasive, concise, and well-organized oral presentations
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Knowledge of metallization, electronic component manufacture, or experience in the design, fabrication, specification, or reliability of electronic components is preferred
  • Experience with product commercialization framework (PCF) or other product development stage gate processes is highly desirable
  • Travel Expectations: up to 30% travel to customer facilities and international locations.
