Job Description

Prime Services provides securities financing, securities lending and other client services (securities clearance and settlement, asset servicing reporting and technology, risk management tools) to the firm's hedge fund clients. Salespeople in Prime Brokerage Sales are responsible for spearheading relationships with both start-up and established hedge funds. We leverage our strong relationships both across the firm and with our clients to prospect and onboard new hedge fund business. Given our dynamic positioning and hedge fund industry expertise, we are responsible for understanding our clients' organizations and needs as well as delivering the firm's resources via customized and innovative solutions across the global markets.

The GS Prime Services offering also includes Derivatives Clearing and the team will also work with institutional clients seeking to hedge portfolios, gain net exposure across a number of products, manage cash flows and implement a variety of other strategies. The team trades global, all asset classed futures and options including: equity indexes, commodities, fixed income and FX. Desk clients include investment managers, various strategy hedge funds, banks, pensions, and corporate investors.

Responsibilities

Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Relationship management including regular client visits
  • Understand client reporting needs
  • Advising clients on implementation strategy
  • Train clients on new technology & reporting
  • Increasing market share across both execution and clearing platforms
  • Provide margin oversight for clients
  • Ensure start-up process for new accounts goes smoothly
  • Liaise with legal and compliance groups on client issues
  • Portfolio accounting and reporting
  • Heavy contact with Derivative Operations
  • Heavy phone interaction
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Cross selling of other firm products
  • Working as part of a regional and Global team offering best in class client solutions and service

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years relevant experience (i.e. prime services, controllers, operations) preferred but not necessary
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to interface with internal and external operations groups
  • Attention to detail
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to react quickly to meet intra-day deadlines
  • Focus on Risk Management
  • Strong ability to multi-task and self-starter
