Basic Design Engineer

Main Responsibilities

• Draw the overall layout drawings (including detailed design); draw safety drawings, such as escape route maps, structural fire protection maps, danger zone division maps, etc.;
• Proficiently use the stability analysis software NAPA or GHS to perform independent stability analysis and optimization work, and output stability documents, including but not limited to: freeboard calculation, hydrostatic table, cabin layout plan, tank capacity table, internal/external watertight plan, complete stability report, damaged stability report, etc.;
• Coordinate various disciplines and perform weight statistics based on the weight data provided by each discipline; analyze the accuracy of information provided by each discipline, and issue early warnings on the weight of the entire ship;
• Review and clarify the input materials of the basic design company, such as drawings and reports;
• Provide overall professional and technical support to other disciplines (detailed design + construction design), and guide them to carry out detailed and construction design work;
• Participate in the R&D and design tasks assigned by the company, and output drawings and reports related to the overall layout and stability analysis.
• Participate in and guide on-site support work and output relevant test outlines and reports: launching, towing, floating adjustment, tilting test, lifting test, sea trial, etc.;
  
  

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in shipbuilding and marine engineering, and offshore engineering, etc.
• More than 6 years of experience in stability analysis and overall layout, those with overall professional supervisory experiences are preferred;
• Proficient in AUTO CAD, NAPA or GHS, Rhino and other design and analysis software, those with experience in marine engineering foundation design are preferred;
• Participate in the basic design work of at least one commonly used international classification society (such as ABS, DNV, LR) product, and complete the whole process from modeling, output report, submission & review, completion and delivery, and those with experience in marine engineering product design are preferred;
• Familiar with common international conventions such as IMO MODU CODE and SOLAS;
• Familiar with the types and overall layout characteristics of international mainstream marine engineering products (semi-submersibles, jack-up platforms, FPSO, etc.), and those who can independently carry out conceptual design (planning and layout) are preferred;
• Can independently translate, read and understand English materials, and can conduct daily technical exchanges in English;
