Social and Behavioural Scientist

In this role, you will:

  • Be part of a research team that conducts research to sense-make behaviours using qualitative, quantitative and computational methods
  • Observe and interpret human behaviour at various levels-of-analysis: individual cognition and decision making; small group dynamics; and macro-level social relationships
  • Develop research approaches, coding frameworks and metrics to analyse data and derive insights on human behaviour and motivation
  • Adopt the use of quantitative and computational methods to analyse data and work with a team of computer scientist to develop technologies and software
  • Work in the field with MINDEF/SAF and to collaborate with other scientists from academia and industry

Requirements

  • Computer scientists who are interested in solving social science problems (e.g. computational social science, social data science, business analytics) to apply
  • Degree / Masters / PHD in Applied Linguistics / Applied Psychology / Artificial Intelligence & Psychology / Business Economics and Psychology / Linguistics & Multilingual Studies / Psychology & Security Studies / Psychology & Sociology / Strategic Marketing
  • Strong applied statistical skillsets and familiarity with SPSS, R or Python
  • Computational social science skillsets for analysis of big data
  • Strong foundation in social science research methodologies
  • Strong interest and/or knowledge in social and behavioural science theories
