We are seeking experienced and innovative individuals to conduct research on mass rearing and field deployment of male mosquitoes under Project Wolbachia - Singapore. The project focuses on implementing the use of Wolbachia technology as an integrated novel approach to suppress urban Aedes mosquito populations in Singapore. The candidate will be actively involved in multi-disciplinary R&D projects to augment our public health research and surveillance programmes in Singapore.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead/co-lead in designing and executing experiments related to mosquito mass rearing, deployment and prototyping of novel equipment
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements
  • Translate research to operations and policy
  • Develop and review Work Instructions and risk assessments of the production and quality control processes
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and present at major scientific meetings


Requirements:
  • Excellent team management and leadership abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven skills in experimental design, data analysis and scientific writing
  • Good physics knowledge, experience with robotics, 3D modelling or/and rapid prototyping will be an advantage
  • Willing to work staggered hours or after office-hours, weekends and public holiday
