[What the role is]

[What you will be working on]

The officer will provide effective managerial and staff functions as part of the dynamic team in the Civil Aviation Medical Board (CAMB) of the CAAS. Working under the supervision of the Assistant Director (Medical Office), the officer is required to support him/her in ensuring the effectiveness and productivity of the medical office. SM(MO) must be able to manage all the functional processes of the medical office to ensure that timelines and compliance standards are met for the processing of all medical certification and review cases. He/she must be able to handle inquiries from licence holders and public on related rules, policies and process matters. He/she is also required to be effective and reliable in handling IT system issues and project execution under the guidance AD(MO).

SM(MO) will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Operations management


Organise and manage work processes, including collaboration with external staff, to meet operational standards, expectations and goals. Manage rosters for Medical Assessors to ensure that all medical certification and clearance boards are conducted according to monthly and annual targets. Upkeep system compliance and related records to ensure that CAMB is ready at all times to undergo various internal and external audits.

  • Business continuity and crisis management


Update SOPs for business continuity plans and train external staff on the agreed procedures. Execute the procedures smoothly in coordination with external staff when ordered.

  • IT system management


Manage day to day work to ensure high serviceability state of CAMB’s e-service and electronic medical records system. Drive efforts to ensure that the support team of vendor conduct analysis, troubleshooting and expeditious resolution of issues. Manage sub-tasks in the development and implementation of upgrades to existing system or a replacement system.

  • Projects and programmes


Undertake staff support, data management and operational implementation tasks relating to CAMB’s projects and programmes (e.g., mental health, fatigue risk management, human factors, training courses, rule development, research, etc), provide support for secretariat function for the Tripartite Mental Health Working Committee, work with AD(MO) to ensure successful delivery of projects and programmes.

  • Other staff functions


Support and assist AD(MO) in his/her work in partnership engagement and corporate responsibilities as tasked.

Candidates with:

  • Strong sense of purpose and inner drive to achieve personal work targets and contribute to shared mission and goals.
  • Good communication and staff writing skills.
  • Experience with operations management and IT system implementation
  • Previous experience or having strong interest in regulatory oversight types of work, including policy development work.
  • Basic data and/or statistical analysis competency with an interest to deepen such skills.
  • Any medical-related work experience or qualification (nursing, psychology, social studies, etc) would be advantageous but not essential.


Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
