Job Description

You will be assisting in the research activities conducted by IMH, in projects involving maternal mental health, mechanisms of change in psychotherapy, and emotional processing in mood disorders.

You Will Be Involved In The Following Ongoing Projects

  • Maternal Mental Health project: Predicting development of future maternal mental health issues from baseline questionnaire and symptom data and developing screening and personalised profiling tools for personalised treatment. This will involve working on creating online CBT modules.
  • Brain imaging and cognitive psychology, studying the self in mood disorders and maternal mental health in modalities such as EEG and MRI.

Our Other Research Activities Involve

  • Personalised genomics: Developing machine learning algorithms to apply large-scale genomics data as well as GWAS data to make predictions from individual genetic sequence data, involving prediction of markers such as epigenetics, transcriptome data or individual phenotypes such as psychiatric symptoms, nutrient levels or treatment or drug responses.
  • Collaborations with NUS IORA on the Maternal Mental Health project: This will involve developing XAI, explainable algorithms for predictive models and computerised adaptive testing.

Job Responsibilities

Research

  • Managing participant recruitment procedures,
  • Writing of grants and publications, as well as Ethics applications.
  • Supporting writing and analysis on manuscripts on the topic of mental health screening tools, response to psychotherapy, imaging.
  • Provide assistance where required for the various research projects.

Requirements

Competency

  • Experience in statistical analysis tools and/or programming would be a plus
  • Good interpersonal and writing abilities

Educational And Professional Requirements

  • This position is open to undergraduate and Master’s graduates.
  • Psychology, Computational biology/Bioengineering/life science graduates interested in applying skills in a clinical mental health setting will be preferred. However, applicants with relevant experiences and interests are invited to apply.
