IoT Engineer (HVAC)

As an IoT Engineer, the successful candidate will be involved in Edge to cloud deployments. This will involve connectivity to downstream systems, configuring edge hardware, onboarding of data points and configuring cloud apps to create dashboards and insights.

In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of cutting-edge digital, green tech, smart buildings, energy related operations and products, as well as popular IoT data transfer protocols such as MQTT. Strong problem-solving skill, independent study capability and self-motivation are the core qualities of a suitable candidate. On-job-training and guidance will be provided to the successful candidate.

Suitable candidates will have a good background in IT and BMS (building management systems).

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all site related activities, such as Edge installation works, Edge hardware and software configuration works, IP network configurations, ensure communications connectivity to Cloud and configure Cloud applications and verify data quality
  • Support Solution Architects to ensure end to end accountability
  • Attend to customers’ technical issues and work closely with Solution Architects, to resolve issues
  • Ensure proper project documentations
  • Escalate technical or any issues to your supervisors in a timely manner and expedite problem resolution
  • Register product or solution issues and track the progress with Solution Architects
  • Support Solution Architects in conducting end-to-end testing
  • Managing users’ ad-hoc and urgent change requests
  • Be hands-on in the above activities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Information Technology / Electronics, Communications Engineering or equivalent
  • Basic Networking knowledge & IP addressing required
  • At least 1-3 years of working experience in IP Networks, Building management systems or PLCs
  • Experience in BMS/HVAC is essential
  • Familiarity in Building protocols such as BACNET, MODBUS, OPC UA is desired
  • Desire and passion to learn new technologies and skills
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Initiative and drive to get things done
  • Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines on several initiatives simultaneously
